In Loving Memory of Anita Jean Parrett

Anita Jean Parrett, 74, of West Plains, MO, passed away on November 22, 2025, in West Plains. She was born on January 27, 1951, in West Plains to Donald and Lonez Warren Parrett.

Anita was a proud 1968 graduate of West Plains High School. Her professional life demonstrated a deep commitment to service, beginning with work in St. Louis before moving to Nebraska, where she raised her family.

While in Nebraska, Anita passionately served her community through roles including Activity Director for seniors, a Secretary in the State Capitol, an active member of the Seward Women’s Club, and a dedicated foster parent for many years.

Returning to her roots, Anita continued her impactful community work, notably as the Main Street Director for both West Plains and the City of Blytheville. She also dedicated her time to the Southern Missouri Homebuilders Association and Habitat for Humanity.

Anita possessed a vibrant creative spirit. She enjoyed creating art throughout the years and most recently, taking art classes alongside her friends and grandchildren. She built many lasting friendships through her shared passion for crafts, participating in craft shows, and teaching classes. Her love for decorating was highlighted by her participation in the Christmas Tour of Homes, where she showcased up to 17 themed trees, ranging from “Fishing” to “Lambs.”

Anita is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lonez Warren Parrett.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren:
• Austin Rowland and wife Angie (Lincoln, Nebraska)
• Adam Rowland and wife Jill (Imperial, Missouri)
• Nick Rowland and wife Whitney (West Plains, Missouri)
• Grandchildren: Conner, Chloe, Addison, Elise, Mercedes, Bryce, and Luna

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Anita’s name to Habitat for Humanity of Howell County.
