Funeral Services for Cleta Darlene Barnes, Age 81 of Summersville, Missouri will be held on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025 at The Bradford Funeral Home, Summersville, Missouri, beginning at 1PM. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12-Noon. Interment will be in The Flat Rock Cemetery, Summersville, Missouri.
Cleta (Wilkins) Barnes, the daughter of Leonard Vernon Wilkins and Mabel Virginia (Dyer) Wilkins, was born March 5, 1944 in rural Shannon County and passed away at her home on November 15, 2025, surrounded by family, making her 81 years of age.
Cleta grew up in Shannon County and attended Eminence Elementary School and Summersville High School. She graduated from Summersville High School. Cleta was united in marriage to Doug Lewis and later in life to Gary Barnes. She was a mother to his children, Connie and Tim Barnes.
Cleta enjoyed gardening, keeping house, going to the river, spending time with family and friends, and playing cards. She loved the simple joys of life and cherished every moment shared with those she loved.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Vernon and Mabel Wilkins; one brother, Marvin Wilkins; and many uncles and aunts.
Survivors include two stepchildren, Connie and Tim Barnes; three nephews, Steve Wilkins, Vernon Wilkins, and Sam Jewett; one niece, Alison Haveman; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Wilkins; her faithful friend and caregiver, Gina Ross; close friend, Phyllis Barnes; one uncle, Leland and Mag Wilkins; and many cousins.
