Dallas Haskey Altermatt was born April 20, 1944 in Twin Bridges, Missouri, the son of William Wallace and Audrey Christine (Thornton) Altermatt. He died on January 2, 2026, at the age of 81, at his home in Willow Springs, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Dallas Dean Altermatt.
Dallas is survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma Altermatt of Willow Springs, MO; son, Scott and Lisa Altermatt and their children, Brent and Alisa Altermatt, Ethan and Brittany Daily, Josh and Cierra Weaver, Michael Cawvey and Ryan Cawvey, and son, John and Misty Altermatt and their children, Jesse and Kryslyn Altermatt, Dakata and Julia Wallace, Levi Russell, and Ethan and Brittany Bell; two brothers, Doyle and Sheryl Altermatt and Roy and Wanda Altermatt; twelve grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Dallas spent his working years mostly farming and doing mechanic work. He was an excellent mechanic and greatly enjoyed working on vehicles. He was known throughout the community for his wealth of knowledge of all types of trucks and tractors.
Dallas was also an avid racing fan, whether it be Nascar, or any other type of racing. He also greatly enjoyed talking and visiting with friends and family.
He will be greatly missed by loved ones and his many friends.
