Funeral services for Helen Myrene Friend, 86, of Isabella, MO will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at The Bridge of the Living Word Church in Theodosia, MO. Officiating will be Pastor David Homer. Burial will be in the Lutie Cemetery.
Myrene passed away December 23, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 20, 1936 in Parma, Idaho to Ralph and Grace (Dollins) Harring.
On June 29, 1953 she married Eliga Friend Jr. in Kansas City, MO. They moved to Ozark County in 1971. Myrene worked at Baxter Lab in Mtn Home for 25 years before retiring. She also worked at Town & Country Supermarket in Gainesville for a while.
She is survived by five children Mike Friend and wife Kathy (who was like another daughter to her), Debbie Mahan, Steve Friend and wife Rhonda, Ronda Plumb and husband Jim, Eric Friend and wife Missy; and Yorkie “Toto” was also like a child to her; six grandchildren Daniel, Telea, Joshua, Ashlynn, Brady, Jennifer; great grandchildren Heath, Aaron, Taytum, Wyatt, Luke, Savanna; one great-great grandson Hayden Wayne Dale; three brothers Kenny, Deanie, Ricky; three sisters Mary, Lily, Bonnie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eliga Friend; two brothers Melvin and Lester; two sisters Evelyn and Annie.
Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
