Funeral Services for Robert Louis Combs, Age 69 of Alton, Missouri will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2026 at The Clary Funeral Home, Alton, Missouri, beginning at 1:00 PM. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 12-Noon.
Robert Louis Combs (Louie), age 69, of Alton, Missouri, passed away on February 3, 2026
Louie was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and man of faith. In the late 1990s, he was paralyzed and spent the remainder of his life in a wheelchair. Though his physical circumstances changed, his spirit, resilience, and love for the outdoors never left him. He remained an avid hunter and fisherman, deeply connected to the land and the simple joys of God’s creation. Above all else, Louie would want to be remembered for his faith in Jesus Christ. His belief anchored him through hardship and shaped the way he lived his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Andrew (Sam) Combs, His mother, Shirley Yvonne (Harrington) (Combs) Simpson, his step-father, Nelson Green Simpson and his eldest son, Samuel Jason Combs.
Louie is survived by his son Nathan Louis Combs, married to Moriah, and their children Lyndee, Kennedy, and Scottie. He is also survived by his grandchildren Aiden, Owen, and Clayton, children of his late son Jason and Jason’s wife Sharolett. He is further survived by his brothers Andrew, Anthony and Jubal whom he shared a lifelong bond.
Louie’s life was marked by perseverance, love for family, appreciation for the outdoors, and a steadfast faith that carried him through every season. He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
