Ronald Dale Rossignol, son of the late Arthur and Edwina (Berube) Rossignol, was born September 3, 1937, in Ashland, Maine. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 30, 2025, at his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 88 years of age and passed away on his mom’s birthday.
Ron was raised in Limestone, Maine, and was the second born of ten kids in his family. He ran away from home in October of 1955 to join the United States Army, much to his mom’s disappointment. He served tours in Ethiopia, Germany, and Vietnam. He retired from the Army with the rank of First Sergeant (E-8) in 1976.
He met Judy Ann Rosenfelt on a blind date on December 31, 1966, set up by her brother-in-law, Richard Best. They were married on April 2, 1967. To this union came two children, Rhonda Rene and Matthew Tyler. Ron also had two sons from a previous marriage, Ronnie Mackenzie and Frank Mackenzie.
After retiring from the Army, he worked for the Civil Service, started his own refrigeration/appliance repair business, and started a real estate company alongside Judy, called Rossignol Realty.
Ron enjoyed woodworking, making jewelry boxes, cedar chests, and creating hunting knives with deer antlers as handles. He would gift his crafts to family, friends, and even strangers if he felt impressed to do so. He called himself, “Jack of All Trades, Master of None.” He built two different homes over the years. In 2006, Ron and Judy moved to Mountain Grove and completely remodeled and added an addition to their current home. He helped with construction and the oversight of the original portion of Faith Fellowship Church in Houston, Missouri, as well. Ron also loved a good game of basketball. He played church and YMCA basketball leagues up until his early seventies. He enjoyed shooting the breeze at the local coffee shop.
Ron had a personal walk with Jesus after accepting Him as his personal Savior many years ago. His faith was expressed most of all through his kindness and generosity. He was ready to go home.
Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by three sisters, Gale, Gloria, Norma; and three brothers, Donald, Roy, and Allen.
Ron is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy Rossignol; and their children, Rhonda (David) Gray of Macomb, Missouri, Matthew (Stacy) Rossignol of Falcon, Missouri, Ronnie (Claire) Mackenzie of Billerica, Massachusetts, and Frank Mackenzie of Billerica, Massachusetts; twelve grandchildren, Alisha Gray, Christian (Rebekah) Gray, Jonah (Kally) Gray, Grace Rossignol, Joel Rossignol, Langston Levart, Billy Mackenzie, Christopher Mackenzie, Heather Mackenzie, Sarah Mackenzie, Samantha Mackenzie, Frank Mackenzie, Jr., and Paige Mackenzie; seven great-grandchildren, Malachi, Olivia, Evie, Mac, Graham, Micah, and Avalyn; and three sisters: Laura Marshall, Elizabeth Lee, and Carol Sewell.
