Chiefs 30, Lions 17

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Detroit Lions 30-17 at Arrowhead Stadium, improving to 3-3 on the season. Patrick Mahomes threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns and added another score on the ground as the Chiefs controlled much of the game. Marquise Brown caught two touchdown passes, and Xavier Worthy added another. Kansas City committed no turnovers or penalties and limited the league’s top-scoring offense to 17 points. A brief scuffle broke out after the game when Lions safety Brian Branch struck JuJu Smith-Schuster at midfield.

Detroit’s offense was unable to sustain drives despite a strong opening possession that ended in a field goal following penalties. Jared Goff threw for 203 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with Jameson Williams and Sam LaPorta for scores, while Amon-Ra St. Brown was held to 45 receiving yards. The Lions’ defense, missing several starters in the secondary, struggled to contain Kansas City’s passing attack in the second half. The loss dropped Detroit to 4-2 on the season.
