The West Plains Lady Zizzer Tennis Team is hosting a unique and fun way to raise funds with a Pickleball Tournament set for Thursday, October 23rd. The tournament will be doubles only, with a $20 entry fee per team, and it’s open to all skill levels. But this isn’t just about competition participants are encouraged to wear costumes, with prizes awarded for the best dressed teams. Registration kicks off at 5:30 PM at the West Plains Zizzer Tennis Courts. All proceeds go to support the Lady Zizzer tennis program. So, if you’re a pickleball player or just looking for a fun way to support local student-athletes grab a partner, get creative with your costume, and hit the courts Thursday Oct 23rd.
Give Local First two-person 18 hole golf scramble will be held at North Terra Golf Course Friday Oct 24th with Tee times of 8am and 1pm you may play in both but with a different partner. Prize on every hole and two side games cost is $200.00 per team. Proceeds benefit The Howell County Special Olympics. Sign your team up at North Terra Golf Course in West Plains.
Congratulations to former West Plains Zizzers coach and athletic director Greg Simpkins, who will be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame alongside the 1968 Cabool Bulldogs State Champion Football Team. In addition, the Thayer Bobcats football program and its supportive community will be recognized with the inaugural Friday Night Lights Award, a new honor celebrating excellence and tradition in high school football.
