A Missouri lawmaker has filed legislation that would replace the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) with a new board appointed by the governor. Senate Bill 863, pre-filed earlier this month by Republican State Senator Jason Bean, would shift power from MSHSAA to a board of directors who would oversee and facilitate any statewide association that facilitates interscholastic activities for secondary school students.
