The Missouri State West Plains Grizzly Basketball Team traveled back to The Bob Seacrest Field House on The campus of Mineral Area College for Region-Semi final play with The Mineral Area Cardinals on Thursday, March 5th, 2026.
1st Half: Mineral Area controls the tip but ball is lost from the far end. Taken back for a three by #5, Shaun Glass. #11, Ndnong Rueyu takes the ball back and tires to shoot but ball goes back to the Grizzlies.
Two more turnovers by Mineral Area as Grizzlies are doing a remarkable job with getting back on defense. Guard #5, Dueling takes the ball back, tries for a shot as he passes to #11, Ruey for Mineral. Lost again. But taken back again.
Makai Lindsey continues to get steals for the Grizzlies. Another three by Shaun Glass is missed. Ruey on the rebound for Mineral Area misses and taken back by #15, Javon Barbee for the Grizzlies. #11, Makai Lindsey shoots the two. Grizzlies lead 5-2 with 16 ½ minutes to go.
Two handed dunk by #11, Nndong Ruey evens up the game at 5-4. Ball goes back to Lindsey who shoots a two as he goes to the line and puts the Grizzlies up by two more, 7-4.
Javon Barbee gets another steal and the next three for the Grizzlies to make it a 10-4 ballgame. Barbee is fouled on the next foul by #3, Terron Garrett. Barbee shoots 1-2 of the line.
Rebound by #5, Edwin Dueling for The Mineral Area Cardinals. Taken back by Ace Evans who shoots and scores. However, Ace misses both free throw.
Ball taken back by Mineral Area as #10, Nassir Binion scores on a bounce pass. On the right side, Shaun Glass the ball back. Slapped away by Binion and the fourth turnover by The Grizzlies with 12:45 to go.
Dassiah Green with the next steal for the Grizzlies and a layup by #4, Ace Evans. Grizzlies now leading, 12-6. Ball taken back and a good shot by #33, Nasir Allen for Mineral Area.
Foul on The Grizzlies as Nasir Allen shoots the ball but gets dropped. Offensive foul call on Allen and ball will go back to The Grizzlies. Ball taken down the timeline by #11, Makai Lindsey who passes to #1, Tyrell Smith. Ace Evans tries for a wide open three, no good. Two handed shot good by Nasir Allen for Mineral Area on the rebound.
Ball lost again on the rebound but turned back over by Mineral Area. Ace Evans with a good stop and goes to the line as Grizzlies lead 14-10. Two handed dunk on the rebound by Mineral Area to cut it back to one point by #11, Nndong Ruey. Shot blocked by #3, Terron Garrett is blocked and another putback just before the shot clock by Ace Evans. Rebound and right at 8:45, game tied at 15-15 by #3, Terron Garrett.
Foul on #3, Blayne Harris after another shot by #11, Ruey for Mineral Area who completes the play at the line. Foul on #21, Jordyn Richard sends Ace Evans for the Grizzlies back to the line making two, Grizzlies go back up by three- 18-15 with 8:13 to go.
Ruey scores on the next shot for Mineral Area to cut it back to one. Answered back by #5, Shaun Glass. But another two handed dunk will keep the game will send Mineral Area back up by three more.
#24, Dassiah Green will the next shot. But another steal and a three by #3, Terron Garrett.
#1, Tyrell Smith on the next turnover for Mineral Area is good, Mineral Area leads 29-23 with 6:18 to go. Another three is good by Tyrell Smith. Richard with the next lay in on the rebound by Mineral Area. Back to a two point game 28-26.
Makai Lindsey with a steal and another bucket. Lost again by Mineral Area and a dunk and a foul sends #24, Dassiah Green to the line for two more.
Grizzlies move back out to a zone on defense. A foul call on #24, Dassiah Green.
Cut back to a one point game as #11, Makai Lindsey shoots after nearly being blocked by Jordyn Richard for the Cardinals. Punt fake good on the rebound by Richard for The Cardinals. Mineral Area leads 35-34 with a two minutes to go in the half.
Kai Lindsey completes the three point play at the line to give the Grizzlies a one point lead, 36-35. A pushing foul as Terron Garrettt pushes off on Tyrell Smith. Ball will stay with Mineral Area.
Jordyn Richard with a foul on the next play but hangs on the rim and picks up another foul. Ball taken back by The Grizzlies. Ace Evans loses the ball on the next shot. Shot up and good with 3-10th of second by Smith who scores right before the buzzer.
HALFTIME- Mineral Area Cardinals: 42/ MSU-WP Grizzlies: 38
3rd Quarter: Out of the gate; A three by Shaun Glass starts things off for the Grizzlies. Mineral Area tries for two putbacks but misses it again.
First shot good finally by #3, Terron Garrett. But a foul and #11, Makai Lindsey gets a steal. Kai tries a 1-1 but falls short and is taken back by Mineral Area.
Mineral Area hangs out at a one point lead as Kai Lindsey gets another steal and attacks the rim, taking back the lead by one 45-44 with 17 ½ to go.
A foul but ball stays with the Cardinals as Grizzlies nearly steal it and another bucket by #10, Nassir Binion as they trail by one. Rebound Shaun Glass who blocks off Terron Garrett and scores his 12th point on the night, 47-46.
A foul on Tyrell Smith sends #33, Nassir Allen to the line, making both. Kai lindsey with a steal and a hussle. Shot falls short and put in by #5, Edwin Dueling but taken back as Kai Lindsey shoots two more.
Deep three pointer by #2, Lorenzo Shields off the bench for Mineral Area with 14 minutes to go. Jordyn Richard with the next bucket for Mineral Area on the rebound. Punt fake and shot up and good on the rebound for the Grizzlies by Kai Lindsey.
Left handed shot to cut it to a four point game by Ace Evans is good as the ball stays with Mineral Area.
15-footer good by Terron Garrett and a blocking foul on #1 Makai Joyner as ball nearly goes back to the Grizzlies. Foul on #13, Clayton Robbins as Joyner shoots a long jump and a three point play.
Putback shot as ball is nearly lost and a foul as #5, Edwin Dueling shoots two more Mineral Area. Foul on a near steal by Terron Garrett as Ace Evans shoots a long pass. Ten point game now 64-54.
Left elbow shot is good by Shaun Glass as Grizzlies try to get a stop with under 8 minutes to go. Side iron shot good by #2, Lorenzo Shields by Mineral Area on the other end. Taken back by Blayne Harris with a good shot from the ring wing.
Foul on the following shot as #1 Maki Joyner shoots one free throw and misses the second. Ball nearly thrown away but taken back by Mineral Area. Three ball good by #2 Lorenzo Shields who bring Mineral Area back up to an eleven point lead.
Seventeen point shot good on the rebound by Shaun Glass after the rebound. Mineral Area loses the ball on out of bounds and a wide open three no good by Dassiah Green. But taken back by Lorenzo Sheilds, tries to put in a baby hook but lost again.
Shields keeps getting the rebound with 3:50 to go and eventually gets the next three pointer. A technical foul on the Grizzlies sends Dassiah Green out of the game and Shields for Mineral Area shoots two with 3:15 to go.
A three pointer by Ace Evans cuts the game to eleven after the scruffle at 3:15 as an additional technical foul was called on Mineral Area.
Terron Garrett with a low block passes to Shields for two more with 2:10 to go, ball will stay with Mineral Area.
Foul on Deuling sends Ace Evans to the line for two. He makes both
Jordyn Richard with two after the next foul on The Grizzlies.
