The Houston Tigers started their season at home versus the Pierce City Eagles on Friday night, last years matchup went into overtime this year it was decided in regulation.
After two quick scores by both teams in the 1st quarter this looked to be a repeat of last season’s OT thriller. This held true through the end of the half with the score 13-14 Eagles up by 1.
The 2nd half proved to be a different story all together. With an injury scare in the 1st half, Houston Senior Quarterback Riley led with his legs and his arm to propel his team to two straight unanswered touchdowns after a touch down by Pierce City.
With the score to end the 3rd quarter at 35-20 the Tigers would add one more touchdown in the 4th to seal a final victory of 42-20 against the Eagles. The Tigers travel to Springfield next week to take on Springfield Catholic.
