Mizzou Wraps Second Scrimmage with Quarterbacks Still Neck and Neck
Missouri wrapped up its second preseason scrimmage Saturday as head coach Eliah Drinkwitz reviewed the first two weeks of camp and assessed the team’s ongoing quarterback competition. The offense protected the football with no turnovers, while the defense stood out with two safeties and strong play in the open field. Red zone drills were evenly matched, and both quarterbacks, Sam Horn and Beau Pribula, led late scoring opportunities, with one ending in a missed field goal and the other in a touchdown.
The quarterback battle remains tight with no clear leader, and Drinkwitz expects it to continue into next week. Several veterans, including Connor Tollison and Jalen Catalon, were held out as a precaution. After an off day Sunday, the Tigers will begin execution week in preparation for their Aug. 28 season opener against Central Arkansas at Memorial Stadium.
