Patrick Mahomes appearance was brief, lasting just 48 seconds in the Kansas City Chiefs preseason opener.

After the Arizona Cardinals fumbled the opening kickoff, Mahomes capitalized on the short field with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Jason Brownlee for a quick 7-0 lead. It was his only pass of the night, finishing 1-for-1 for 1 yard and one touchdown before giving way to backup Gardner Minshew, who added a 2-yard rushing score in the second quarter. Harrison Butker also connected on a 58-yard field goal.
