Missouri running backs Jamal Roberts and Ahmad Hardy each rushed for over 100 yards, but the No. 19 Tigers couldn’t keep pace with No. 3 Texas A&M, falling 38-17 before a sold-out Memorial Stadium crowd of 57,321 on Saturday. The loss dropped Mizzou to 6-3 overall and 2-3 in SEC play, while the Aggies improved to 9-0 and 6-0 in the conference. Roberts finished with 110 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, while Hardy ran 13 times for 109 yards and a score, pushing him past 1,000 yards for the season. The Tigers also set a new school record with their 19th consecutive home sellout.
Texas A&M led 14-0 at halftime and stretched the margin to 21-0 on a 48-yard screen pass from Marcel Reed to KC Conception early in the third quarter. Missouri’s DaMarion Fowlkes sparked the Tigers with a 55-yard kickoff return, leading to Roberts’ 4-yard touchdown run. A&M’s Dalton Brooks converted a fake punt into a 48-yard gain that set up a field goal, and running back Rueben Owens II added two touchdowns as the Aggies pulled away. Missouri kicker Oliver Robbins connected on a 49-yard field goal for his first as a Tiger, and Hardy broke free for a 45-yard touchdown late in the game. Freshman quarterback Matt Zollers, making his first start for Mizzou, completed 7 of 22 passes for 77 yards.
