Vinnie Pasquantino’s 20th home run of the season, a solo shot in the seventh, put Kansas City ahead 3-2. Adam Frazier paced the Royals’ offense with four hits, while Maikel Garcia added three.
But the Twins tied it in the eighth and broke through in the 11th when Luke Keaschall connected on a two-run homer off Royals closer Carlos Estévez (4-4) with two outs. The blast landed in the first row of right-center, marking Minnesota’s ninth walk-off win of the year.
Royals manager Matt Quatraro says that his team can’t overreact to a tough loss.
