Heavy Storms Expected Tomorrow in the Ozarks

The National Weather Service out of Springfield has released their information packet regarding the incoming severe weather expected tomorrow on Wednesday, May the 8th.

Major risks associated with this particular storm are potentially very large hail, damaging wind speeds of up to 70mph, the possibility of tornadoes, and a low risk of heavy rainfall and flooding. For our particular area of the Ozarks, the time frame can range anytime from 7am to around midnight, effectively making the risk range all day.

The highest potential for flooding lies in southeast Missouri, encompassing the south half of Howell and Shannon Counties, and all of Oregon County. The highest chance for tornadoes  envelops areas from West Plains to Springfield, Rolla, and Poplar Bluff.

Confidence on the likelihood of tornadoes remains low, at 10-14%. Hail and severe thunderstorms remain the highest probability of threat.
