The Diamond Award is the highest level of recognition in the department’s annual stroke care awards, honoring hospitals that deliver defect-free care, maintain accurate stroke band documentation, and meet critical time benchmarks like rapid door-to-CT scans. These measures are aligned with American Heart Association and American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) Coverdell metrics, which aim to ensure that stroke patients receive fast, appropriate, and effective treatment.
Eligibility for the award is limited to hospitals that are designated by the Arkansas Department of Health or hold a national accreditation in stroke care.
