As the new school year approaches, the Howell County Health Department is making it easier for families to get their children vaccinated by offering back-to-school immunizations through both scheduled and walk-in clinics.
Parents can schedule appointments during the department’s regular vaccination clinics, or take advantage of weekly walk-in clinics held every Friday throughout July and August. Walk-in hours are from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m., with no appointment necessary.
To ensure a smooth visit, families are asked to bring their child’s immunization records. A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child at the time of vaccination.
“Getting a jump start on back-to-school shots helps avoid last-minute stress,” said officials with the Health Department. “We’re here to make the process as easy and accessible as possible for families in our community.”
