West Plains, MO. – The Greater West Plains Area Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the formation of the Greater West Plains Area Chamber Foundation, a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designed to enhance the Chamber’s ability to serve the community through charitable giving and expanded programming.
This exciting new venture opens the door for the Chamber to accept tax-deductible donations, apply for grants, and create new funding streams that will directly support the economic vitality and quality of life in the West Plains area. “The creation of the Foundation gives us a greater ability to make a lasting impact,” said Jessica Collins, Executive Director of the Greater West Plains Area Chamber of Commerce. “With this new structure, we can now launch and grow initiatives that strengthen our workforce, develop leaders, and invest in the future of our community.”
Enhancing the Chamber’s Mission The Greater West Plains Area Chamber Foundation will serve as the charitable arm of the Chamber, providing a new platform to support a range of community-focused programs.
These include:
- Workforce development and educational support
- Entrepreneurship and small business initiatives
- Community improvement and beautification projects
- Leadership and civic engagement opportunities
- Emergency Management & Preparedness
With the ability to receive tax-deductible gifts, the Foundation allows individuals, families, and businesses to give back to the West Plains area in a way that aligns with their values and contributes to the community’s ongoing growth and success.
In Partnership for Greater Impact To ensure responsible financial stewardship and regional collaboration, the Foundation has partnered with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, a trusted philanthropic leader with deep roots across southern Missouri. This partnership provides access to a robust network of funders, strategic guidance, and compliance support. Community-Driven, Future-Focused The Foundation will be governed by an independent Board of Directors and will operate in partnership with the Chamber to identify and address key community priorities. “This Foundation is a meaningful step forward for the greater West Plains area,” said Collins. “It allows us to build on the Chamber’s success while opening new doors for giving, collaboration, and long-term investment in our region.” The Chamber invites all community members to learn more about the Foundation’s mission, future projects, and giving opportunities.
