Funeral Services for Glen Pinney, Age 85 of Pauline, South Carolina (formerly of Alton, Missouri) will held on Saturday, December 20th, 2025 in The Wilson Family Cemetery, Alton, Missouri, beginning at 11:00 AM.

Glen Arnold Pinney, age 85, a beloved husband, father, stepfather and grandfather passed away peacefully December 12, 2025 in his home in Pauline, SC after a battle with cancer.

He was born Sept 21, 1940 in Scottsbluff, NE, to Edwin Authur Pinney and Wilma Maria Pinney. Glen is known by those who loved him as a gentle soul, a man with a heart of uncommon kindness and someone who sought peace at any price. His large as life smile brightened any room.

Glen left home at the age of 11 and moved to the Hunnel Ranch in Minatare, NE where he lived and worked until after he graduated from high school. He was a noted track runner in high school, rising each morning at 4am to hand load and unload silage feed for hundreds of head of cattle on the ranch and still make it to school. His time after school was devoted to ranch work and it was there, he developed a love for ranching and cattle that he kept throughout the remainder of his life.

After graduation, Glen left the ranch and started to work for Great Western Sugar where he remained until he left Nebraska in 1981. He married JoElla Rose Leonhardt, November 17, 1959 with whom he had eight children. In 1981 Glen moved to Colorado where he met his second wife, Sheilah Mayfield whom he married July 3, 1992. They relocated from Colorado to South Carolina to be closer to Sheilah’s family where Glen worked as a boilermaker most of the rest of his career. In retirement, he, Sheilah and adopted daughter Kim, owned and operated The Furniture Dock in Spartanburg SC until closing it in recent years.

Glen is survived by his wife of the home, Sheilah, daughter Kim Pinney of Brighton, CO; step son Billy Mayfield and wife Jill (deceased) and their son Matt and daughters Kristina and Amber of Pauline SC; stepson Jason Mayfield and his daughter Jadyn, lovingly called “Punky”, of Pauline SC; biological children, son Ben and Lori Pinney of Ashland, IL and their daughter Ashlynn; son Ken Pinney of Alton MO; son Tom Pinney and Pamela of Jacksonville IL and Tom’s daughters Kelci, Kala, Jessica, Kendra and Roxanne; grandchildren Rachael and husband Kevin Grabkowski and Jonathan Trotter both children of daughter Pam (deceased) and her husband Dwight Trotter; son Sam and Debbie Pinney of Springfield IL and their daughters Lyndzie and husband Kyle Vogelzang and Lauren Pinney; daughter Tamera and JaRon Townsend of Walnut Grove, MO and their children McKenna and husband Ryan Myers and Treyton and wife Alayna Townsend; and daughter Jen and John Wilson of Alton, MO and their children Ethan and Mercede. Glen is also survived by his brother, Ron and wife Jean Pinney of Woodlake NE. In addition to listed grandchildren, Glen has 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dorothy Pinney Houk, an infant son Tim, twin to Tom, and daughter Pam of Wrightstown, NJ, twin of Sam, his daughter in law Jill Mafield, his first wife JoElla and granddaughter Maclaren Elise Wilson.

Glen was separated from his biological children for nearly 30 years but was ever thankful to reunite with them in the last decades of his life. Throughout his life he kept a belief in God and renewed his vows of service November of 2019.
