Two Mountain View residents were injured in an accident on I-44 12 miles west of Springfield on Tuesday.
The accident happened when a 73-year-old Mountain View man struck the towed unit of a Freightliner in a 2017 Ford Edge. He and the 70-year-old female passenger, also from Mountain View, sustained minor injuries in the crash.

They were taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
