Ronnie Ray Doss, son of the late Delores M. Doss and Ray F. Doss, was born on February 20, 1943. He entered into eternal rest on January 8, 2026, at the age of 82.
On October 22, 1984, he was married to Veda Ann Girdley. Ron worked at several jobs as a youth, such as the local show, gas stations, and at St. Mary’s Church, as a bus driver and janitor. He is most appreciated for his work as an appliance repairman. He started at Sears in the tire shop, but was soon trained in the appliance repair area. He worked for Sears for many years and then started his own company, “Ron Appliance Repair.” He was a loved and trusted repairman.
Ron’s biggest love was kids! Our own and any others we could gather up, and everyone knew him as “Papa Ron.” He could always come up with a new adventure, and the kids loved him endlessly.
He is survived by his loving wife, Veda Doss; six children, Debbie Leach of West Plains, MO, Tammy Henderson of West Plains, Mark Doss and wife, Kathy of Seymour, MO, Jay Shelton and wife, Jodie of West Plains, Holly Carlson and husband, Cory of Cincinnati, OH, and Nicole Shelton and husband, Mitch of Springfield, MO; two brothers, Terry Doss and wife, Adele of West Plains and Jack Doss and wife, Cindy of West Plains; and he was blessed with so many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Delores Doss, and his oldest sister, Freda.
