130 People helped during 2024 Project Homeless Connect

West Plains, MO. – Project Homeless Connect served 130 people during its annual event in West Plains held on January 25, 2024.

Ozark Action, Inc., which hosts Project Homeless Connect, expressed its thanks to all of the vendors, sponsors, and volunteers who worked on the event in a statement:

“Ozark Action, Inc. would like to thank all the vendors, sponsors, and volunteers who helped make this year’s Project Homeless Connect event possible.  This year there were 130 individuals served with your help.

The generous donations received from these individuals made it possible for this year’s event to be held; West Plains Elks Lodge #2418, Jordan’s Mobile Home Sales, Roger Foley Shelter Insurance, Pizza Shack / Spero Hardwoods, Mugs LLC, James Gang Towing, Kaye Huff, Zach Barton Farm Bureau Insurance, and to Ink Monkey for updating our signs.

A big thank you to all the volunteers who donated their time to escort individuals through the event; Mercy Mountain View Clinic, Southern Missouri Technical Institute students and instructors, and any individuals we failed to name.

Finally, a special thanks to the MU Extension Office of West Plains for providing lunch to the vendors and clients who attended the event.”

Project Homeless Connect helps local homeless individuals get access to free quality-of-life services and gives Ozark Action, Inc., the local homeless services entry point, a “point-in-time” count of homeless people in the region. Services at Project Homeless Connect include haircuts, basic health and vision screenings, physical and mental health assistance, food, clothing, substance abuse counseling, and much more.
