On April 8, 2022, Rodney Joe Brown, age 51, of Ava, MO was arrested on a Douglas County Warrant for Burglary and 13 counts of theft of a firearm, bond was set at $2500 cash only. The warrant was the result of an investigation by Douglas County Deputies Lt. T. Wallace and Detective K. Roberts. The burglary occurred in January of 2022. The majority of the stolen firearms were recovered by the Deputies.
Sheriff Chris Degase would like to recognize the hard work put forth by Deputies Wallace and Roberts. “It is always a good feeling with when you are able to return stolen property to its rightful owner.”

Brown has since posted bond.
All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
