Ava, MO. – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office stated on Friday, August 4th, that the first-ever recipient of a new scholarship program was announced.
Chris Degase is pictured with Mackinley Goss, presenting her with a $250 scholarship as a part of the Douglas County Deputy Association 501c3. They go on to state that this scholarship was made for the purpose of allowing residents to pursue a career in law enforcement or an associated field.
While this was the first-ever recipient, they go on to state that another will receive a similar scholarship this year.
Goss will be using this scholarship to pursue a career in Forensic Science starting at MSU-West Plains.
