Hannah Harper will be the guest of honor at Hannah Harper Day, held in Willow Springs on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The day’s activities will include music downtown in the afternoon, a parade through town, and a free evening concert. The events are being coordinated through the City of Willow Springs and the Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce.
Harper is a contestant on the current season of American Idol, which is airs on ABC. Her song “String Cheese,” which recognizes challenges faced by many mothers of young children, has placed on Apple Music and Billboard charts.
Parade
The public is encouraged to bring parade entries with a patriotic theme similar to the community’s annual Fourth of July parade. Only licensed drivers will be permitted to drive along the parade route and all entries must be decorated in a patriotic theme. More details regarding parade lineup and route will be announced at a later date.
Civic groups, churches, businesses, and individuals who would like to help sponsor events or to volunteer during the event are encouraged to contact city hall at 417-469-2107.
Concert
The evening’s free concert will be at 7 p.m. at Palenske Field, the Willow Springs High School football field. Parking areas will be designated throughout town with free shuttle service available to the football field. More details will be announced closer to the event.
