West Plains, MO. – A woman from Memphis, TN. has been arrested after events that led up to the woman shooting at another vehicle on the roadway containing children.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G prepared this statement on the arrest.
On May 10, at 11:40 AM, Troop G received a report of a possible shooting involving a black Ford Taurus with Tennessee registration on US 63 near Highway 14. The caller reported that the Taurus was driving erratically and throwing objects at their vehicle.
Upon stopping at a nearby Signal station, the caller’s juvenile passenger reported being struck by an object. An examination of the vehicle revealed damage consistent with a bullet hole. Law enforcement broadcasted the vehicle’s information, leading to the Cabool Police Department locating the Taurus on US 60 westbound near Cabool.
The driver, identified as 36-year-old Porsha L. Smith-Ford of Memphis, TN, was taken into custody and transported to the Howell County Sheriff’s Department for further investigation. The incident remains under investigation, and more information will be provided as available.
