A routine traffic stop on U.S. Highway 63 led to the arrest of a wanted fugitive on September 8, 2025, according to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 3:36 p.m., Deputy Hunter J. Ward initiated a stop near State Route 14 after observing a white Ford F-150 traveling 10 miles per hour below the posted speed limit, impeding traffic flow. The vehicle, bearing Missouri license plate 54H0KH, was followed for roughly 2.5 miles before being pulled over.
The driver, identified as Eil Taylor, complied with the deputy’s request to exit the vehicle and sit in the patrol car while his information was processed. A records check revealed Taylor had an active felony warrant for identity theft out of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. The warrant, which carried no bond, was confirmed by dispatch, and Pennsylvania authorities agreed to extradite.
Taylor was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Howell County Adult Detention Center. He has been charged with being a fugitive from out of state
