Students to Graduate During MSU-West Plains Commencement May 10

Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) will celebrate the achievements of 290 students during its 2024 commencement ceremony, set for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at the West Plains Civic Center arena.

Among the graduates are 264 students eligible to receive associate degrees and 26 students qualifying for certificates. Additionally, 103 students from Missouri State University-Springfield will also be honored during the ceremony through the Missouri State Outreach program, which offers both undergraduate and graduate coursework in West Plains. These include 84 bachelor’s degree candidates and 19 master’s degree candidates.

This year’s commencement speaker will be Dr. Karla Eslinger, commissioner of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). A former Missouri senator and longtime educator, Eslinger brings more than three decades of experience in both public service and education, having served as a teacher, principal, and superintendent, including time in West Plains.

The event will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. The livestream link will be available the afternoon of the ceremony at WP.MissouriState.edu/Commencement.
