At 11:15 on Sunday May 4th, 2025 a 53-year-old West Plains man was seriously injured when the 2022 Dodge Charger he was driving ran off of Highway 142 five miles East of Lanton struck an embankment, went airborne and came to rest in a ditch. He was airlifted to Mercy hospital in Springfield for injuries, he was wearing a safety device.
