Sunshine Festival and Cosmic Carnival For Party In The Path

West Plains, MO. – On April 6, 2024, there is a Cosmic Carnival for kids in the south parking lot of the West Plains Public Library.

This event is on the list of events happening for the Party in the Path to celebrate the upcoming solar eclipse in West Plains. Entrance to the Cosmic Carnival is free of charge due to the funding and sponsorship by the City of West Plains Tourism Department. There will be a dozen carnival-style activities with small prizes given at the event. The events will consist of a spacewalk (cake walk), a magic show by magician Randy Follis, bounce houses, balloon animals, face painting, a mountain bike demonstration, and a petting zoo. Inside the library, there will be a mural painting art event and a STEM activity.

The Missouri State University- West Plains ASCEND Program is sponsoring a sensory-friendly space on a nearby campus in conjunction with the event. Local businesses and nonprofits are providing volunteer staffing to run the games. Just down the road at Peoples Park, there will be a Duck Race for kids at 2:30 p.m.

Also on April 6, 2024, at the West Plains Civic Center, there will be a Sunshine Festival. The festival starts at 10 a.m and is scheduled to end at 5 p.m.. This festival is going to feature vendors, food trucks, a beer garden, and live music. The music is going to be performed by Robin and Tong Louge from 10-11, Tara Nickole and Blayd Law from 11:30-1, Chasing The Apocalypse from 1:30-3, and Native Souls from 3:30-5. The Journey Stagecoach with be set up on the West Side of the West Plains Civic Center lawn for the Sunshine Festival.
