Two Arrested for 14 Counts of Stealing Catalytic Converters in Howell County

West Plains, Mo. – A man and woman have been arrested for stealing catalytic converters in Howell County. The arrests were made by Howell County Sheriff deputies on Tuesday, June 28 following a traffic stop on US Highway 160 near the intersection of State Route AB.

During the stop, two individuals were identified as suspects in the stealing of catalytic converters from a West Plains business on June 25 of this year. Following a consented search of the vehicle, multiple stolen items were recovered including six catalytic converters, two license plates from the states of Texas and Missouri, as well as several bank checks.

Danny C. Bearden, age 49, and Melissa C. Folsom, age 38, are being charged with fourteen counts of Stealing – Catalytic Converter with a bond of $15,000 cash or corporate surety each and more charges are expected to come as Bearden is a suspect in multiple cases.
