LICKING, Mo. — Residents inside of the Licking School District rejected a property tax initiative for school improvements on Tuesday.
The proposal would have increased the tax ceiling $.85 from $2.75 to $3.60 per $100 assessed valuation through tax year 2040 and use the money to expand, renovate and refurnish classrooms, cafeterias, and other improvement projects across the district.
The final unofficial total from the special municipal election was 558-372.
