Alene Turner, 95, of Thornfield, MO passed quietly at her home on January 18, 2021 with family by her side. She was born June 17, 1925 in Thornfield, MO to Hobert and Leta (Barner) Lawson.
On November 19, 1944 she was united in marriage to Ancil Turner. Alene was a homemaker who always had children in her home. She raised six children and baby-sat grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a Christian and a member of Thornfield Southern Baptist Church. She loved to go to church and sing.
She is survived by her children Gail Reich of Gainesville, MO, Larry Turner and wife Lora of Mansfield, MO, Johnnie Turner of Gainesville, MO, Gier Turner of Gainesville, MO, Jamie Wyman and husband Keith of Thornfield, MO; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; eighteen great-great grandchildren (and another due in April); one sister Virginia Pugh and husband Rick of Wichita, KS; brother-in-law Ardith Turner of Springfield, MO; sister-in-law Norma Freeman and husband Don of Squires, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ancil Turner; one daughter Evelyn Sue Bennett; brothers Arnold Lawson and Leonard Lawson; and one daughter-in-law Phyllis Turner.
A come-and-go visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Thornfield Cemetery Chapel with Bruce DeWeese officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Thornfield Cemetery or the Gideons. Arrangements are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
