Clifford “Iffy” Eugene Owens

Clifford “Iffy” Eugene Owens, 75 years, 6 months, 24 days old, passed away on  June 3, 2025, at his home with his wife, Sharon by his side.

Clifford was born November 10, 1949, in Oakland, California, to John Owens and Mary Jean (Peak) Owens.

He grew up in Oakland and graduated from high school there. His father served in the U.S. Navy for 30+ years, and Clifford was proud of him. In 1969, while still in high school, Clifford enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served in the Vietnam War on the USS-Okinawa LPH-3 and was honorably discharged in 1972. 

He married Jackie, and they were blessed with one son, John Daniel Owens. Sadly, he preceded in death, as she did.  

Clifford worked as a painter in construction, and later he moved to the Kansas City, Missouri, area and worked and retired from the Kansas City Veterans Hospital as a maintenance supervisor. He worked there for 20+ years.    

On August 29, 2014, Clifford and Sharon Marie Cunningham were united in marriage at Lavern’s Chapel in Miami, Oklahoma. They lived in Blue Springs, Missouri, for several years until retirement, and then they moved to the Ozarks in Dora, Missouri.

He was a proud member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association and the Patriot Guard.

He was a Christian, and he and Sharon attended Eastside Baptist Church in Independence, Missouri. Clifford enjoyed making art and homemade jelly. He loved riding his motorcycle, fishing, hunting, and most of all he loved being with Sharon in the outdoors. Clifford loved visiting with people wherever he was. He touched lives in a positive way and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Kathleen; and his son, John Daniel Owens.   

Clifford is survived by his wife, Sharon; step children; step grandchildren; extended relatives and numerous friends.            

Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Missouri, per his request. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
