Theda M. “Judy” Moore, 82-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Thursday, May 1, 2025. She was born June 14, 1942, in Flint, MI, to the late Roy and Myrtle Jean (Kendrick) Huffman.
Judy’s warm and friendly personality made her a beloved member of the Doniphan community and a perfect fit for her role at Fred’s Discount Store where she worked 20 years, until her retirement. She was known for her cheerful disposition, dependability, and the way she made customers and coworkers alike feel welcomed and appreciated.
A skilled seamstress throughout her life, Judy sewed craftsmanship into everything she created which included countless items ranging from quilts, prom and wedding dresses, and keepsake items, as well as making alterations. Her work was a labor of love that left a lasting legacy in the lives of many.
Judy was also a passionate sports fan, whether she was cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals or participating on her bowling team where she developed life-long friendships and camaraderie with her teammates. Known for her resilience, loving heart, and generous nature, Judy quickly became a valued friend and neighbor to everyone she met. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Tom (Sharon) Moore of Springfield, MO, Becki (James) Yetman of Scott City, MO, and Cindy Moore of Doniphan; a sister, Geraldine “Jerri” Huffman Mann of Piggott, AR; and brothers, Clarence (Jane) Huffman of Rector, AR and Tim (Jeanne) Huffman of Bryant, AR. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded by a son, Baby Boy Moore, and a brother-in-law, Billy Mann.
Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, May 4, 2025, beginning at noon with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Jay Johnson will be officiating, and burial will be in Hunt-White Memorial Gardens.
