Tom “Mello” Kendrick

Tom “Mello” Kendrick passed from this life on December 12, 2019.

He was born in Cook County IL January 29, 1970 to the late Terry Kendrick and Joyce Griggs Fisher. Tom was a graduate of Highland High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a construction worker by trade and a drummer and outdoorsman by passion. He also served as a volunteer fireman with the Ninemile Ridge Fire Department for several years.

Tom was preceded in death by this grandfather Richard Griggs, and his nephew Blake Fisher.

 

He is survived by his wife Shannon, his son Garrett, two stepsons Austin Merriman and Cody (Shaunda) Horton, and his granddaughter Briley who affectionately referred to him as “Toba”. He is survived by his mother Joyce, step father Dave (Beverly) Fisher, brothers Stephen (Alyssia) Fisher, Jeff Fisher, sisters Tammy (Robert) Hendrickson, and Anna Bryant. Tom is also survived by his grandmother Merle Griggs.

 

Tom had a large loving family and a host of lifelong friends he made in school, in his work in the construction business, from his love of horses and all things outdoors, and from his love of making music.

 

A celebration of his life is going to be held 2:00pm Sunday Jan. 12, 2020 at Wortham Oak Hill Chapel, with military honors. The family has ask that donations be made to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, AR.
