The wait is over! The 67th annual Calico Rock Lions Club Rodeo & Parade is coming to town this coming weekend, Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14.
The event, sponsored by the Calico Rock Lions and conducted by Rand Rodeo Company, will be held in the Tip Wiseman Rodeo Arena in Earl King Park located off Hwy 56 in Calico Rock. Friday evening gates will open at 6:00, with the rodeo action starting at 8:00. Saturday gates will open earlier at 5:00 with the rodeo starting at 7:00.
Everyone is also invited to come out and enjoy the rodeo parade to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday the 14th. No early registration for participating is necessary and those wishing to participate may begin lining up at 10:00 in the high school parking lot.
The theme for this year is “Small Town USA”. The route will begin at the rodeo arena, down state Hwy 56, and conclude by passing through the downtown Historic District on Main Street. For parade information you may contact Jocelyn Walker at White River Healthcare & Rehab by calling 870-297-3719.
Back by popular demand this year will be a Street Dance held Saturday evening at 9:00 following the conclusion of that day’s rodeo. The event, sponsored by the First National Bank of Izard County, will be held on Peppersauce Alley behind historic Main Street and again feature the band Whiskey Halo.
All are encouraged to attend and have a family fun time while also helping the Lions raise money to fund their many charitable community projects!
