Howell County Sherriff’s Department Makes Drug Arrest

From the Howell County Sherriff’s Office:

On April 17, 2025, at approximately 5:00 PM, Deputy Kyle Hambelton initiated a traffic stop with a black Hyundai at Dollar General in Caulfield, Missouri. The driver, identified as Jason Wanagel, was known to have an active felony warrant from Taney County. During the course of the stop K9 Deputy Malone, arrived at the scene with his K9, Spice. After conducting a free air sniff, Deputy Malone reported that K9 Spice had indicated the presence of narcotics inside the car.
A search of the vehicle resulted in two bags containing a white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine, as well as a drug paraphernalia.
Jason Wanagel was taken to the Howell County Adult Detention Center, where he was booked on his warrant and additional local charges. He was later transferred to the custody of the Taney County Sheriff’s Office.
