Increased Fire Risk Expected Tomorrow and Thursday, NWS Says

The National Weather Service in Springfield is warning that increased fire dangers will be prevalent in the area tomorrow and Thursday.

With dry conditions still strongly existing within the Ozarks despite any recent rains, as well as high temperatures and strong winds, conditions will be just right to cause fires.

Those in the area should limit their burning while conditions are in place and avoid parking on dry grass or dragging chains from their vehicles that could cause sparks. Cigarettes should be properly disposed of, and any use of fire should be completely extinguished before leaving it unattended.
