Betty May Lathrom, daughter of the late Betty and Norman Hopkins, was born in Aurora, Missouri. She went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 3, 2025, in her home at Manes, Missouri, surrounded by her loving husband and their children.

Betty grew up around the Mountain Grove area. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Ronnie Lathrom, on November 24, 1972, and graduated as a happily married newlywed. Betty and Ronnie had what few people dream of having. Theirs was a marriage of unconditional love, as in a fairytale. Three children were born to this union, Lisa, Rodney, and Ronnie Jr.

She was known for her beautiful flowers, her quilting, and sewing skills. As well as being an avid reader, she loved hunting with her husband and children. Many happy hours were spent sitting on the front porch with her devoted husband, just enjoying each other’s company. Even though they had been married for fifty-three years, they still acted like newlyweds. She loved the company of family and friends, along with a good batch of homemade ice cream. They enjoyed their retired life together with their dog, Jasimine.

Her whole adult life she worked hard and retired from Copeland in 2020.

Betty May was saved and baptized at a young age. She dearly loved the Lord.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Betty Hopkins and father, Norman Hopkins and two infant grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Lathrom of their home in Manes, Missouri, one daughter, Lisa Lacy (Randy) of Mountain Grove, Missouri, two sons, Rodney Lathrom (Kristin) of Hartville, Missouri, and Ronnie Lathrom, Jr. (Denise) of Hartville, Missouri, six siblings, Ricky Hall (Shealia) and family, Randy Hall (Connie) and family, Steve Hopkins (Jane) and family, Teresa Gaston (Tommy) and family, John Hopkins (Tina) and family, and Donna Eggert and family, ten grandchildren, Corbin Lathrom, Cole Lathrom, Rene Lathrom (Jazmine), Trenton Lathrom, Kinley Smith, Ally Smith, Macy Smith, Sidney Smith, Seth Lacy (Brittinie) and Britney Lacy, three great-grandchildren, Jon Leeroy, Paislee, and Karson, two great-grandchildren on the way, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Betty May left her mark on everyone’s heart and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
